Privacy Policy
Effective August 9, 2026
Stauffer & Sons Construction builds custom homes in Colorado. This page explains what we collect when you visit staufferandsons.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read.
The short version
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or hand it to advertisers. We collect two kinds of things: basic, anonymous numbers about how this site gets used, and whatever you choose to tell us when you reach out about a project.
What you give us
Nothing on this site requires you to identify yourself. If you fill out a contact or consultation form, you give us your name, your email address, your phone number if you provide one, and whatever you tell us about your project — your land, your timeline, your budget, what you are hoping to build. Those details go to Andy and to the people here who would work on your project. Nowhere else.
If you call or text us at (719) 492-2639, we have your phone number, the way anyone does when you call them.
What the site collects on its own
Like nearly every website, ours records some technical information automatically:
- Which pages get viewed, and roughly how visitors move through the site.
- Approximate location — usually a city or region, derived from your IP address. Not a street address.
- Browser and device type.
- The site or search that sent you here.
- Standard server logs from our hosting provider, which include IP address, the page requested, and the browser identifier. We also keep a separate record of visits by automated crawlers and AI bots, so we can see how our pages are being read by machines. That record is about bots, not people.
We use two analytics tools. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without following you to other websites. Google Analytics measures the same kinds of things and does set cookies. Both give us counts and patterns, not identities. We do not use advertising pixels, retargeting tags, or any tool built to follow you around the internet.
Cookies and similar technology
- Analytics. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named
_gaand similar) so it can tell a repeat visit from a new one. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works fine either way. - Video. Some pages include a video player hosted by Wistia. If you play a video, Wistia may set its own storage and record playback statistics. If you do not play it, it does not.
- Staff logins. The administrative area of this site sets a login cookie for our own staff. It is never set for ordinary visitors.
That is the whole list. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no chat widget.
How we use it
- To answer your question and get back to you.
- To schedule and prepare for a consultation.
- To understand which pages are useful, so we can make the rest better.
- To keep the site working and secure.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We never have.
Who else touches it
Only the companies that run the site’s plumbing:
- Vercel — hosting and cookieless web analytics.
- Supabase — the database that stores site content and any form you submit.
- Google — Google Analytics.
- Wistia — video hosting, on pages with a video.
They handle this information on our behalf under their own terms, and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Phone calls and text messages
If you give us your phone number — by calling, texting, or entering it on a form — we may call or text you back about that inquiry. That is the extent of it. We do not send marketing blasts, we do not add you to a list, and we do not share or sell your number. Reply STOP to any text and we will stop texting. Your carrier’s message and data rates may apply.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries and project conversations for as long as the relationship is active and for a reasonable period after. A custom home is a long project with a longer tail — warranty questions arrive years later. Analytics data is kept in aggregate. Ask us to delete your information and we will, unless we are required to keep a record for legal or contract reasons.
Security
Form submissions and site data live in access-controlled systems and are encrypted in transit. No system is perfect and we will not pretend otherwise — but we do not collect sensitive information through this website. No Social Security numbers, no payment card data.
Children
This site is for adults planning a home. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
Whether or not the law requires it where you live, here is what you can ask us for:
- A copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- A correction, if something is wrong.
- Deletion.
- To stop contacting you.
- To opt out of targeted advertising — which is easy, because we do not do any.
Email us at info@staufferandsons.com or call (719) 492-2639 and tell us what you want done. We will confirm we are talking to the right person, then take care of it.
A note on Colorado: the Colorado Privacy Act applies to businesses handling personal data at a scale well beyond ours, so its requirements do not currently attach to Stauffer & Sons. We have written these rights out anyway. They cost us nothing, and they are how we would want to be treated.
Changes to this policy
If we start using a new tool or collecting something new, we will update this page and change the effective date at the top.
