About this project
The story of Mountain Modern Residence.
This one is ours start to finish — designed in-house and built by our own team, full custom from a blank page.
It began with a phone call Andy took in a quiet wing of the library, keeping his voice down while Tim — a technology executive who had spent a career on the road — described the lot he’d found, looking out at one of the most iconic mountains in the country. At first he didn’t want to overbuild the neighborhood. What changed his mind through design was a simple realization: you only build once, and this was the house he wanted for himself.
The design phase ran about a year and a half, unhurried on purpose — “I’m in no hurry. I want what I want, and I want to get it right.” Tim brought a lifetime of design sensibilities gathered from the world’s finest hospitality — things he’d noticed in Hong Kong, in Barcelona — and our job was to curate them into a home that could actually be built, with every trade-off presented honestly. Most of the people we build for are smarter than we are; they just don’t know construction. Present the information well and they make wise decisions — Tim made them brilliantly, and along the way he even sharpened our own spreadsheets and process.
The result is the glass-walled mountain modern home you see here: a great room open to the Front Range, a terrace pointed at the view, and no surprises at the end — because there were none along the way.
