Stauffer & Sons Construction at IBS 2014 in Las Vegas

We’re going to Vegas, baby! Stauffer & Sons will be attending NAHB’s International Builders Show in Las Vegas February 4-6, 2014!

The Builders’ Show is one of the biggest and most exciting conferences for Builders, and this will be the second time we’ve attended. IBS is a great place to get new ideas, meet other building companies and vendors from across the world, and learn about some of the newest developments in building processes, methods and technologies. Plus, it’s just fun to meet people in our industry!

One of our good friends who owns an architectural firm in town, Larry Gilland, will also be at the show. He’s been going to IBS every year for over 25 years, and this year, he was chosen to be one of the designers in a special event: the BALA Live Design Competition. BALA is the “Best in American Living Awards“—a competition put on by the AIBD (American Institute of Building Design) and Building Homes for Heroes, where, in a manner similar to “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” four teams attempt to design an entire house in one day. The teams all compete to create a winning design which is chosen by a panel of judges and conference attendees. The design that wins is then brought to life, and the home is given (for free) to a US Military veteran and his or her family.

So if you’re going to IBS, be sure to let us know and we’ll look you up when we get there. Also, good luck to Larry Gilland and his teammates from the Collaborative Design Group in the design competition! Are you going to IBS? Let us know! If you’ve gone before, what have you found the most valuable exhibit or educational session?
